2021 Badgers Football Thread

I will give you money UW will always be a poor school comapred to SEC country and OSU
Like everyone not named OSU. PSU and Michigan spend top 10 national money on recruiting and what did it get them?

It is. We went to 3 the last 4 years for the record
Quite true. We've been lucky enough to be part of the wedding party. Never the bride nor groom.

Edit: What I'm saying is that we've at least been in the mix as one of the better programs in the nation.

Exactly. I can remember the Garden State Bowl as the gold standard

If you look at our bowl appearances, and their level of importance, then compare it to the supposed "star recruitment levels," the Badgers come off as being pretty darned special. We've often out played, and out ranked, a lot of the elite dozen or so when it comes to recruiting.

If you look at that perspective, you've got to say that the coaching staff and the recruitment has been pretty darned good.

Of course there's still the elephant in the room, which deals with culture and leadership. Our being as high as we are is a fairly fragile situation.

Two more Badger players enter the portal - Quan Easterling(FB) and Donte Burton(CB). Easterling was fairly highly regarded when he came in but never seemed quite ready to play. Even though he's #2 on the FB depth chart he's only played in a couple of games in 3 years. Burton played a bit more, but the suspicion is that Kalon Gervin from MSU being added to the CB group may have convinced Burton to try his luck elsewhere. The Badgers now lead the nation in additions to the transfer portal this "season".

Melvin was also ahead of him FWIW.

I know Donte personally and his coaches Gervin had NOTHING to do with it. It's a culture issue in the locker room he wants nothing more to do with. Can't speak for Easterling.

What I know now confirms some issues in that program. Believe what you all wish.
