Bucks vs Hawks Eastern Conference Finals Thread

Now, let's all set up shrines to Joe Boo, burn some incense, and drink some rum, while asking Joe to make Giannis healthy enough to play against the Suns.

Interesting game 6. Got off to an early lead by hammering them, and kept the pressure on through the whole game so none of the Atlanta runs could overtake them.

A real team effort, on both sides of the ball. Just a little sloppy at times, but not all that bad.
Though this also saves coaches Bud job.

This was a very even game 6 when lookint at the stats.

FG % MKE 46% ATL 41%
3 PT MKE 37.8 ATL 37.5
FT's MKE 90.5 ATL 82.6
Rebounds MKE 46 ATL 43
Assists MKE 24 ATL 22
Blocks MKE 5 ATL 2
Steals MKE 11 ATL 11
TO's MKE 14 ATL 16
Points in Paint MKE 40 ATL 40
Fouls MKE 23 ATL 16

Fouls seem the only thing the whole series that was one sided that seemed the refs were calling MKE at lot more then ATL.

Congrats Bucks and Bucks fans!! Enjoy the heck out of it. Get ready to win the whole shabang!!

And stats really are misleading in this series. It really was not that even. Reason for the foul discrepancy is Milwaukee was more aggressive, better on the boards and played more aggressive defense. Atlanta was so passive on defense in the entire series except for Game 4.

Unfortunately that should not be the narrative. Fact is Bud out coached Spoelstra, Nash and McMillan. The adjustments especially on defense were outstanding
Thing is he was brought in after Kidd was fired to get them to the next level if they had not got to the finals people would have said is he the coach to get them there.

It’s not that simple. While Kidd was at best an average coach on multiple levels this team was not taking the next step with Bledsoe at the point. That became very obvious this year. You can only go so far with what you got if the right pieces are not there. Holiday and Tucker have made such a difference with this team and sometimes the trades you don’t make are the best ones

Strange series and strange game 6 to say the least.
  • That did not feel like a Game 6 elimination game. Sloppy first half, no flow and as Shaq said crowd seemed dead
  • That’s why you pay Middleton, it’s not even debatable. Compare him to Collins it’s laughable. Yeah Collins wants a max deal? Ok. Oh he was offered $90m and said no
  • Jrue Holiday is fantastic on both ends. Yeah I was critical of him earlier but he stepped up
  • Nate McMillan was awful. You only get 12 shots from Bogey all night and he’s your best pure shooter? It was clear Young had no lift or burst but you only get Collins 9 shots in 31 minutes? Yeah that’s making adjustments
  • Atlanta played defense for maybe 6 quarters this entire series. Enough said
  • Connaughton was the unsung hero. Made some shots but was outstanding in the boards and played excellent defense
  • Nice to see Teague show up
  • Collins and Bogey combined took 21 shots. Completely unacceptable
Just a gutty team, they play with an edge that’s been missing for years. Most of that is Holiday and Tucker but also Giannis has matured and Middleton has become a legit #2

On to Phoenix
