Rodgers Wants Out

Daniel Jeremiah at NFLN said he spoke to a GM about the situation (probably Mayock I guess?), who told him the Packers org only has one play, to call his bluff. Because you can't let a player with 3 years left on his deal bully you for some perceived slight, and you certainly can't let that player dictate your front office personnel.
Yep because one player does it who's to say Davante Adams does not do it next making demands of ther front office in return for him to sign in GB?

Packers front office is the dammed if you dammed if you don't just like it was with Favre.
the reason they are in that position is that they made bad decisions in 2018 by promoting gutekunst to gm and changing the management structure of the team. in addition, they take too long to recognize problems and are too slow to react when the problem is apparent. if this was a team with a strong ownership, gute would have been gone after the season ended, based strictly upon job performance. and we would not be going through all this turmoil today.

I get that but does that help or hurt the organization long term and I just don’t know the answer to that. You could have a “us against them” moment and it unites the locker room or it divides it

I totally agree with that statement. If he wants to walk, let him. No matter what, the 2021 season will be a joke at this point. If he's not on the field, we have Love, and that's it for anyone knowing the system. We see our back-up QB signed in Detroit, so he's no longer out there. There is no way we will be competitive.

If he does come back, it's not going to be much better. He's going to make the front office wish they'd just released him.

This is the military's equivalent of a SNAFU!
Unfortunately that’s not how pro sports works today. It might in the real world. Part of good management is “reading the room” and the mood of your players / employees. Sometimes cutting bait it the best route for all involved

Thing is how many teams are going to fire a GM that got them to two straight NFCC? Most teams that fire their GM have been out of the playoffs for how many years and are dumpster fires of the NFL.

look at last year's draft and tell me that was even remotely competent. how many of those guys even played a statistically significant number of snaps? you had a team that made it to the nfcc the year before, and the way you address it is by drafting a bunch of guys who may never play for the team? i think a lot of owners would have reacted to that.

Packers don't like change at the GM job. in 30 years we have had 4 GM's outside of a team with owner/GM or BB who is pretty much defacto GM not many teams have had less GM's in that time.

And you run the risk of other FA’s not being interesting in GB because of the perception they don’t treat players fairly. Do I think they should fire the GM? Trade the player. Yes

When do you draw the line of players not viewing being treated fairly and when a team is caving in to a diva player giving them what they want to make them happy?
