Smith at the scene took the blame said it was his weed to the cops.

Cops generally let ya go up to about 10 over... he was doing 81 in a 60mph zone, 21 over will get you busted everytime. Going that fast and having weed is total stupidity.

everyone does 80 through that stretch of highway. even in a 60 mph construction zone. it's not like they would have been going faster than the flow of traffic....

Do the crime, do the time. Eventually, weed will be legal everywhere, but until then, crying out loud, at least have enough respect for the law, your teammates, and the team that pays you. Keep the damned stuff at home. You don't need it to get from Chicago to Green Bay at 80+ MPH.

Smith told a deputy he had smoked some marijuana earlier before the group left an apartment in Chicago to return to Green Bay. Deputies' reports indicated that none of the men smelled of marijuana once they were separated from the Yukon.

Three Green Bay Packers were briefly handcuffed after a traffic stop in Racine County. The driver, Za'Darius Smith, got tickets for speeding and pot.

so why did they search them if they didn't smell anything?? whatever, this is so a non issue to me. The league needs to get over the pot stuff, who cares. If Z gets a game it will be next season.

Unless it's a huge amount, not anything to be concerned about other than the NFL penalty, but I'd be pissed if anyone was stoned during a game. Don't want the NFL to end up like the MLB was in the 80s, where the MLBPA had gotten the baselines to be pure cocaine instead of chalk, and players were sliding in on routine hits with their noses dragging in it.
