Post Game Packers Defeat Vikings 21-16

I still cut the offense some slack again because the Vikings D is really good. The Packers O threw some things at them they didn’t expect early, but they settled down. T
hose guys play hard, play sound, and give zero ground. I don’t expect them to give up >21 that often this year (if they’re healthy), so I will take a 21 point output.

D played well for how much they were on the field. 19 points in 8 quarters, couldn’t ask for a better start to the season.

A note...
A lot of holding and contact on both sides in the defensive backfield. Didn't like the Offensive PI on the Vikes TD... if their going to call that it'll bite GB in the butt later because we pick on routes with the best of 'um

Sooo dissappointed in fans today. This was the most opposing teams fans ever saw at a game. Even started their SKOL chant a few times. To many people not caring about going to the game as a fan but instead making a buck off the game.

Considering how expensive it is to go to a game not sure I can blame them trying to make money instead....

The days of fierce pride winning out over $$$ is over.. Especially when you can sell tickets for a decent profit.

I'm going to have to say that our defense has played well so far this year. There were 4 long plays against us. The 75 yard run, and 3 passes of 30 yards or more. Throw those four out and the Vikings had another 160 yards total, on an official 55 plays. That's less than 3 yards per play, and that's not bad by anyone's standard. When the defense reaches a point that they can cut back on those long gainers as well, we're going to be talking about about as stingy a defense as possible.

I'm not certain what the "official" average is of points scored per game so far this year, or last year, but I'm going to guess the across the board average is somewhere in the range of 21 points. Winners? Somewhere in the range of 28 to 30. Our defense has held two offenses down to a total of 19 points over two games. No matter how you want to view it, in the NFL, that's playing some D. I like the pieces they've added to the defense. They are showing progress, and learning every day how much more they can play together.

On offense, I'm not certain what's happening to be honest. What I see, I find hard to believe. They can be totally in sync during one possession, and the next time around do their imitation of the Keystone Kops. It's mystifying.

The offensive line played well most of the time. They kept rushers off Rodgers. His sacks came about because he waits out routes, and goes through his entire progression, and continues to look for receivers working off the ball and play. It would be great if a few more receivers would get that message, and create opportunities out of nothing. It's those busted plays that work, which create a completely new dynamic on offense. Jones got 100 yards rushing. Not bad! Averaged about 5 yards per carry I believe? I'll take it. Let's say the offense is still a work in progress, but getting better as they go. But, I'll take where they're at, considering how little contact time they had during the preseason.

Being 2-0, and having both wins against your chief rivals in the standings is priceless. It's like being having an extra game on each of them at this point. It gives the Packers the tie breaker at this point. That can be huge in a tightly fought season.

I'm anxious to see how they handle the Broncos. It could be a very interesting game.

Team started out like a rocket then just fell off a cliff. The OL seemed to run block ok but could not pass block to save their lives. Rodgers also seemed like a guy who just went ice cold after the 1st quarter and held the ball to long at times though will say that his WR struggled to get open and dropped the ball enough also. Aaron Jones by far best game of his career and he can do that every week this should start opening up the pass game more I hope. Jimmy Graham guy is old garbage. He is old and slow and could not block a paper bag in the wind and should have been released in the off-season he has nothing left at all and not worth what he is getting paid. This defense is playing much better then last year but still there is to many tackles that are being missed and what could be a TOL turns into a 5+ yard gain. I will take the 2-0 start we could still have been 0-2 for a couple plays that the other team hits that they did not. Things are looking positive got to still clean up a few things but looking better then I thought so far.

I agree and it was pretty ticky tack but the Packers have been burned by that call too many times to count.

Agreed. Many times in the past selling the Chicago or Minnesota tix could about pay for the season tix for the year. I don't think it was quite that this year but the way ticket prices keep going up every year I can see why some fans would try to profit from this game. You aren't getting a premium for Panther tix at Lambeau.
