2026 Badger Football Thread

how do you attract good players to your school when the team has a history of being ignored by the nfl in recent years? good players want to play for teams that can get them into the nfl. case in point - mason reiger, who was pretty much a consensus 5th round pick was ignored in the draft. he was picked up by the miami dolphins as an undrafted free agent, but that had to be a major disappointment for him.

Couple of new recruits for Bucky.

Jack Sorgi, (6'4" - 210#) a high 3-star QB out of Indiana has commited. Son of former Badger and NFL quarterback Jim Sorgi. Originally commited to Louisville whose only other P4 offer was Arkansas.

DJ Davis, (6'2" - 175#) a high 3-star S/Ath out of Delaware has also commited. Played safety and wide receiver in high school and will supposedly start out in the safety room at UW. Has a solid offer list including several P4 schools.

The Badgers have had a busy last couple of days from a recruiting perspective.

David Hill a 3-star 6'3"- 300# DT from Illinois has commited to Wisconsin. He had a pretty solid offer list, including several Big-10 schools and a few other P4 schools.

Will Zaccagnino a 6'5" - 270# 3-star DL from Connecticut has also commited to UW. He had a handful of P4 offers, along with the military academies.

More unusually, the Badgers also picked up a commit in the transfer portal from the No. 1 JUCO running back in the country - Julius Pope (6'’0" - 195#). He comes to Wisconsin after a season at Northwest Mississippi. He originally started out as a 4-star LB at Arkansas.

Wisconsin running back signee Qwantavius Wiggins will not report to Madison and has not enrolled in school, Badger Blitz has learned. Instead, the former three-star running back recruit, who signed in December, has been released from his national letter of intent, and has committed to Georgia State.

well that sucks. the guy was a track star in high school in addition to football and had 1,161 yards and 18 tds in his senior year in hs.

Seems like a good hire. Now they need to find a good AD who will be able to make good choice on next HC.

It's too bad the kid didn't come up.

That's just the way it is now. Bucky and us must let it be water off a duck's back and move on.

Best of luck to him.

Rally around those that stay.

Same with other transfers, and, yes, there will be many
