Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

A lot of people are talking about how we should keep Havrisik over McManus or keep both on the roster. McManus is 34 years old. Havrisik is 26 years old.

I can't see keeping both on the roster as GB has several players able to come off IR and PUP and can't really afford to carry two kickers.

If the Packers were to cut or trade McManus it would bring a extra $1.6 million in dead cap to the Packers salary cap.

So what is everybody's thought's? Do you keep both or trade one? Do you believe in Havrisik after only two games? It does seem many are jumping on the Havrisik bandwagon after the 61 yarder. Also lets face it the kicking ball seems juiced this year with many players hitting 60+ yard kicks.

For me I am sticking with McManus. He has shown GB a bigger sample size with kicking GB for last year also. Before this Havrisik was out of the league for a couple years so I can't be sold on him yet not kicking for just two games.
maybe you can package him with another player and trade for a cb or an ol or a dl.

Don't fall in love with the girl you meet on vacation. That's all i'm saying.

Rex Ryan what a dumbass. All these media guys love to crap on Love but yet slober on a guy like Caleb Williams who's a lot more turnover prone then Jordan Love is

he had eleven in 2023, including five in a row from week 14 to the first week of the playoffs. but they only count the regular season games in that stat.
he had six in 2024, including five in a row from week 11 to week 15. but he had his lowest rating of the year of 41.5 in the playoffs vs the eagles.
he has had four out of six games over 100 rating so far this year.

The issues with Love IMO.

1. To many fans and media are homers who expect that Love must be just like MVP level Rodgers otherwise he's a bust. Fans who act like this need to accept that you are never going to get a QB like Rogers during his elite years that is top 5 of all time QB play.

2. If GB losses a game or plays poorly in a win they want to blame Love even if he had a solid game. Love is one man he can't play 21 other spots on the field.

3. Rodgers for as great as he was also went rogue many times not calling the play he was given. For what it seems Love plays within the system and runs the plays he's given and at most given two plays and can kill one to go to the other. Love can only do with what he's given.

That being said Love at time has been a gambler willing to take shots. He has seemed to tone that down a bit lately. While Rodgers was never the gambler much Favre was and was loved for it despite how many times he turned over the ball for it.

People are upset Love makes top 5 money. Well fact is when healthy and not being limited by the talent around him he will play like a top 5 QB most of the time. If GB can improve this OL and give Love time to actually go threw his reads and make a play he will be even better. But that's on our GM. Also our HC at times has shown to be very conservative in his play calling. Maybe he needs to place more trust in Love and be willing to dial up higher risk plays?

Lot of people also crying on social media I see over fact that Golden is not getting 10+ targets every game. I swear they thing since he's a first round pick he needs to be force feed the ball. GB MO is not to try to expect to much of rookies right away.

ml has said that he isn't going to change his offensive scheme to give one player more opportunities. it was in reference to getting tucker kraft more touches, but i think it probably applies to every potential receiver on the team.

I tell people look at Adams the guy sat as the number 3/4 until year 3 when GB finally let him have a bigger role in the offense.

However anyone feels about it, it's past time for people to get it through their heads that ML wants that 50/50 run pass split. You get 60 offensive snaps, that means 30 passes. We going to run 1/3 of the passing offense through Matthew Golden?

Second, current top 5 teams who lead the league in run% (includes GB) - combined record, 22-9-1

Current bottom 5 teams in run% - combined record, 11-24

Now maybe you can say ML should focus more on Kraft, Golden, Doubs and then work in Watson, let them all see a little uptick in targets within that split. Maybe you can argue that ML should shoot for a 52-48 pass/run ratio instead of 50/50. But the idea he should go back to the McCarthy era 60/40 split is not gonna happen. The days of feeding a Davante Adams 10-12 targets a game, not going to happen. Any why would you go wholesale changes when the thing he's doing is largely working?
