Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

However anyone feels about it, it's past time for people to get it through their heads that ML wants that 50/50 run pass split. You get 60 offensive snaps, that means 30 passes. We going to run 1/3 of the passing offense through Matthew Golden?
the one thing that i will say is that i can understand why some people feel this way. golden has been targeted 23 times so far this season, has 18 receptions (78.3%), and zero drops. it has been a while since we've had a receiver that has been that reliable. i was skeptical when we drafted him because he had a high percentage of drops in college, but i've done a 180 on that.

by comparison, doubs has had 36 targets, caught 24 (67%), and also has zero drops.
kraft has had 32 targets, has caught 23 (71.9%) and has one drop (3.1%)
wicks has had 20 targets, has caught 13 (65%), and has one drop (5%).

so you can kind of understand why fans might want golden (a 1st round pick) to have a similar number of targets as doubs and kraft.

It also depends how coverage is when Love goes threw his reads. It's very possible a ball is supposed to go to Golden but he's covered so Love has to go to the next read.

Lot of people also crying on social media I see over fact that Golden is not getting 10+ targets every game. I swear they thing since he's a first round pick he needs to be force feed the ball. GB MO is not to try to expect to much of rookies right away.
well, they force fed Travis Hunter the ball this weekend (as they said they would), and look how that turned out for the Jags! Oh, wait, never mind . . .
