Post Game Preseason Game 1 Jets Slaughter GB

I agree with what you're saying about the limited practices.

So, my angst and not understanding is aimed at potential players. I Google 2025 NFL Minimum salary. It is $840,000 for a rookie.

I don't understand how players aren't self inspired to be in great shape, and mentally and physically tough and inspired with the possibility of earning $840,000 out there.

So, I won't forgive poor effort, lack of mental and physical toughness, and poor fitness. At the bottom attitude and effort should count for something. I'm not, but if I were in charge, attitude and effort guys would be earning last spots.
Money is becoming less of a factor. With NIL money and college's now being able to pay players direct more players will give a crap about the money in the NFL.

I said the homer fans need to stop buying the crap the coaching staff said about Melton as they ALWAYS overhype guys like they are all pros. Will stick by that Melton does not deserve a spot on this roster. A guy converting to CB from WR is not ready to play. People also need to stop thinking Melton is so great he would not make it thru waivers.

In his debut at cornerback last night against the Jets, Bo Melton played 12 snaps in coverage and allowed two receptions on two targets for 21 yards.

Kalen King was targeted twice in 18 coverage snaps. He didn't allow a single reception and logged a pass break-up.

He changed out of uniform and into street clothes at halftime, same as the starters and primary backups. Doesn’t seem like a guy fighting for a spot.

Don't care if this was preseason. That was an awful look in all aspects of the game

I don't think it's coaching. Rather a lack of talent. Hate to say this, but at the end of this season, Policy may have to take a hard look at Gute and his team and determine how well they're doing getting good/the right players in.

Your telling the truth... it's been hamstringing us for years... two HOF QB and not near enough titles

Probably not and I think it's going to bite the Packers in the ass if they put him out there as CB 3 or 4.

yeah, that's a head-scratcher for sure. if i could have made $840k for one year when i was their age, i would have only needed one year, and i could have turned that into multiple millions. i would have been very highly motivated.

Simmons looked like someone's cat stepped on their game controller while playing Madden, but overall how do you evaluate these LBs when they play so much soft zone? For all the concern about corner talent, the Jets just ripped through the D right down the short middle of the field. It's a problem going back to last year and the year before. Now maybe they need to play zone because they can't trust their corner talent, fine. But they've been practicing this system for a year, it's not new to them. It's concerning that they're still so bad at it.
i get what you're saying, but don't you think that part of the problem is that they don't practice these oatmeal schemes that much during the regular season? (i've taken your cue and started to use a more apropos descriptor than vanilla)

also, i don't think simmons has been with the packers for a year yet.
