2022 Bucks Off-Season Thread

And who? Who do give up and who is a fit ?
I am not sure but I rather invest in a vet then a rookie. Hell you even said you would not mind trading for a vet. I swear you have to go against everything I say even when you agree with another person on the same issue.

And again who? A Vet is fine but you have to match salaries for a trade which I noted. For MLE yeah fine but trade is complicated

Here is my post / reply on a trade in this thread

I would not mind that but because of the luxury tax and just cap rules salary’s have to match.

I am not adverse to a trade but based on $$ is 99% impossible. It’s complicated

Here are the issues with Milwaukee making a draft deal for a vet
  • Who are tradable assets? Connaughton and Portis are important to the rotation and unless it’s some major deal they are untouchable
  • Norwa has little to no value leaving Allen as the only “value asset” and I use value loosely since his flaws are apparent. Lopez might have some market but who plays the post ?
  • Any trade would need a salary match per the CBA so if limits pulling it off more difficult
  • Luxury tax is already a concern so even taking an expired contract causes issues
  • You can offer Hill but who takes that on?

This is exactly the reason I think anything the Bucks do will include a draft pick, and possibly a player below the seven listed (Starters plus Connaughton & Portis). Breaking up the nucleus of the team that works to fill a need just weakens another spot in the rotation.

If that's the case, better to look to the free agency market and pay the luxury tax, if needed. There's no sense in trying to put a band aid on a gushing wound.

Will be interesting if Portis comes back
