Jim Leonhard defense

Fangio is of a similar philosophy to our departed DC. There's a tree out here somewhere that shows where it goes, and who the branches are.

If I recall correctly, the guy who knew how to scheme as good as they come in this system was Dick LeBeau. I've always felt he was the best DC that I've ever seen. He coached defense like he played it.
 
I’m not sure we will see DC of the caliber of the days of old for awhile. Analytics has kind of ruined it by making people more reliant on spreadsheets and algorithms than what they see on the field.
