Packers 2022 Thread

I just think with the sucess NE has you have to look at being a draft and develop team BUT be willing to go out each year and pick up some FA that can help you right now while those rookies you took develop and in a couple years you can move on from that FA.

speaking only for myself, it’s not insanity because my expectations have changed. Last two years I expected them in the SB. This year I expect them to be good in the regular season, make the playoffs and then who knows. Probably lose.
Fine and dandy but don't expect that everyone else has that viewpoint is all I ask

I have been saying this over and over. GB keeps bringing back the same players year after year and don't get to the Super Bowl but yet see other playoff teams going out and signing other teams FA's to try to improve to go farther. But yet I mention this there are a lot of Packer homer fans that be like but we are a winning team that goes to the playoffs. Yeah and if you are happy with just making the playoffs then you are a fan that's happy with being just average.
And if you expect multiple SB your in a sense delusional. Just look at how many teams went to multiple SB 3x or more. The total since 1996 is 4. New England, Denver, Pittsburgh and yes Green Bay. I get wanting to win a Lombardi but the league is built on parity. There is a big difference between average and competitive each year

It's not about being average as much as our FO lacks vision and our pro personal dept is just meh. The other thing that's maddening is the inability of some not to understand constructive criticism of the team. It's why I started my own site....that ticks me off to no end.
Constructive criticism isnt a problem at all. It really isnt. Its the constant bitching and complaining about things some do because the team doesnt do things how they want, or because of stuff thats dreamed up by fans or the media or whatever the reason. There are lots of know it alls out there. For me, be upset, say your opinion, say your peace, etc,,, and move on. Sports, politics, religion , etc....we all have different ideas and opinions on things......its human nature. I use to let this stuff bother me more, but as I got older, i learned its not worth the grief and arguments. Thing is, while some of us will clash over all this, we would probly get along and be friends outside of here. You may have noticed, but I stick pretty tight to my opinions and thoughts, even while getting hammered for them by others.....might be a little stubborn or hard headed now and then even ;). Hopefully things calm down as we progress towards next season.....

That's a great post! Thanks!

Another thing is dropping so much money on the QB. It's great having a really good player at that position, but Ted's philosophy was "We have Aaron Rodgers, we're gonna outscore teams."

That was experimental at the time, but even with all these new rules favoring the offense, it hasn't panned out.

Spread those investments around on defense. Don't put all your eggs in one basket. If a guy goes down, you can still field a good team.

Get a QB who will run the system effectively. Spread that $50/year around a little bit.

We got the players. It's just our QB going haywire, freestyling it.
I think our defense is solid our offense is meh. You got a all pro QB but a below average OL and WR's.
