Packers 2022 Thread

The true meaning of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result. Embracing that approach? Maybe think about it folks.
I have been saying this over and over. GB keeps bringing back the same players year after year and don't get to the Super Bowl but yet see other playoff teams going out and signing other teams FA's to try to improve to go farther. But yet I mention this there are a lot of Packer homer fans that be like but we are a winning team that goes to the playoffs. Yeah and if you are happy with just making the playoffs then you are a fan that's happy with being just average.

average teams do not go to the playoffs year after year after year. the packers are very consistent and much better than average. they just don't have what it takes to do well in the playoffs.

It's not about being average as much as our FO lacks vision and our pro personal dept is just meh. The other thing that's maddening is the inability of some not to understand constructive criticism of the team. It's why I started my own site....that ticks me off to no end.

I just think if GB had been more vested in FA to sign better players to improve the roster this team gets to a few more SB's in the last 30 years. But this is a team that has always been happy to keep it's own as we got to the playoffs just keep the same guys change a few coaches and schemes and expect things to change.

Sorry but your statement does not ring true

Z Smith, Preston Smith, Amos, Turner, Campbell, and Douglas.

They have been signed FAs but do not have quality depth on STs, which was a big reason we lost this year. Not the only reason but a big reason.

Yeah 3 years ago they went all in on FA but that was pretty much the only time. Campbell was a guy they signed in June to a cheap 1 year deal so not really counting that as a FA signing and Douglas was a guy they claimed off a PS due to injuries.

With cap issues the next few years they will be dealing with I can't see them use FA much again.

Don’t you think draft and develop teams tend to keep their players longer because 1) they’ve invested draft capital/time/money into them and feel it’s wrong for another team to “buy” them just as they begin yo produce dividends, and 2) because of that they tend to know that player better than some outside FA?

speaking only for myself, it’s not insanity because my expectations have changed. Last two years I expected them in the SB. This year I expect them to be good in the regular season, make the playoffs and then who knows. Probably lose.

I disagree, we need to draft better and then take that talent and coach them up. I hate signing FA and trash from elsewhere.
