2021 Off Season Thread

We might view both those players differently, but if you asked that question of Rodgers he’d have a hard time picking one over the other.
Though the one for sure who was made to look like a star when he's on another team he is not nearly as good was Driver. Favre and Rodgers both made him look a lot better IMO.

JMHO, but Gute has done pretty well in drafting the early rounds.
Alexander
Gary
Savage
Jenkins
(2020 class is YTBD)

where he’s been rocky is the 3rd and 4th round picks.
I would think having 4-5 picks in the first two rounds, Gute could find some real talent to add to this team.
i'll give you alexander and jenkins. but gary has had two seasons already and still isn't a starter. i haven't seen anything yet that justifies the #12 pick. savage was a better value at #21, but he hasn't exactly been an all-pro.

Both are in big year this year because I don't know if either has shown enough to pick up their 5th year so they need to step up and show they are worth it this year.

Thing is if you do that you might as well go and trade or cut everyone making a large number on the team as you won't be winning for a while so there is no need to keep Z Smith, Clark. Cap wise you are stuck with Back and Jones for another year or two past this year.
you cant just gut the roster,

the light went on for Gary the last 8-10 games, he was arguably the most consistent guy on that side of the ball other than Alexander

Why not if trading off your two best players you won't win soon and with cap issue in 2022 why not blow it up and go full rebuild then?
Because "rebuild" is the most overrated word in football. Bad organizations will be bad organizations. You have to keep pieces to build with and stay competitive

Still who do you keep? Clark might be overpaid for what he does and do you want to keep Z Smith who will be pushing 30 to rebuild while trying to stay competitive? Bak and Jones stay for a couple years at least as they can't be cut due to cap.
