  • Good D tonight, giving up less than 200 yards and getting two picks
  • Martinez around the ball all night, showing good tackling technique. Watch out Jake Ryan! Joe Thomas looked good. Hits hard. Even Bradford had a good game.
  • Clark will be the starting NT.
  • Rollins has good ball sense.
  • Not much WR action to talk about. Davis may be our return guy. Small. Adams had a nice catch. Wish he could get some separation.
  • Good to see Lacy tearing up the defense. He had great blocking by Ripkowski, who got pulled when he missed an easy pass. Crockett looked good, should beat out Burks for #3 RB.
  • Callahan is clear #3 QB. Struggled against Oakland's ones but did well against the twos. Or #2 with a Hundley reinjury to ankle. Hundley looked good up to that point. Defenses shouldn't go low on QBs in preseason.
  • Mack welcomed Spriggs to the NFL, lol. Linsley may have a tough time getting his starting job back the way Tretter looks.
  • Mortell looks like he has an NFL leg. Unfortunately, he still will not unseat Masthay.

Too early for me yet...I want to see this team on the road next week and I should have a better idea of how things shake out.

I have to disagree on Mortell. I think if he keeps punting like this, he unseats Masthay. Mortell has way more upside then Masthay does.

Agreed on Bradford. I actually like what I am seeing from him so far. Seems to have finally gotten used to the speed of the game. We will see if he has enough to make the team.

I really like Crockett. I think he could be a really good 2nd RB in a year or two. Starks will be gone after next year if Crockett continues to improve.

Mortell might have stronger leg but right now Masthay is more constant and that's why I think the Packers will stick with him.

Starting offense looked OK though the OL seemed to not get much push on the goal line.

Defense is looking solid. Heck, even the back-ups were winning against Oakland's starters at time. That was good to see. Seems we may lack some star-power on defense, but overall the depth is good and there seem to be fewer weak spots than in the past. Of course if there are any DL injuries, that will change in a hurry.

WRs are hard to evaluate because of the QB play. Callahan is not a very good QB and unfortunately, Williams might be worse in the sense that is not a good passer and came from a spread offense in college. I don't think either one can win you a regular season game. They will not go into the season with either one on the roster. Maybe one or the other ends up on the PS, but if Hundley can't go week 1 they will find a veteran and carry 3 QBs at least for a while.

Surprises for me so far: (FYI - I missed some parts of the game last night.)
Bradford looks the part all of a sudden. He's looked lost for 2 years but seems like the light went on for him.
Back-up DBs are looking really solid. There will be some tough decisions for TT depending on how many safeties and corners they carry.
Murphy played for the first time last night and was not a disaster. Early camp reports had him struggling a bit, but he did not seem that bad last night. He might grab the 9th OL spot if they keep that many.
Barclay - actually not a total surprise, but a surprise in a bad way. I thought he'd be better another year after the ACL, but on some plays last night he was just getting pushed back way too easily. Time to move on I think.

I heard Barclay actually played well last night and considering he has been playing out of position, I think he is safe.

Barclay is going to be safe if Linsley has to start the season on the PUP as it would make Barclay the backup center.

Can you clarify constant or did you mean consistent?

I am just look at the stats as well as watching the games:

Sorry meant consistent. From what you read in camp Masthay seems to hover in the lower to mid 40s for most of his kicks. But Mortell he's booming one then shanking the next. Do we want a guy who will kick it 50 on one punt but then kick it 35 the next?
