Just saw a couple pages say he drops balls and while not the best route runner if he gets the ball in space he can make people miss.NO....WTH do you get your info?
In other words a third round pick ;pJust saw a couple pages say he drops balls and while not the best route runner if he gets the ball in space he can make people miss.
4.4 speed with Golden at 4.2, we added speed and speed kills. For the NFL, Williams is a unique weapon as he has an excellent combination of height, weight, and speed. Williams is a tall receiver who can challenge defenses vertically. He is fast in a straight line with the explosiveness to run away from the defense when he breaks into the open field. With the ball in his hands, Williams is dangerous after the catch to weave through the defense and rip off yards in chunks. With his height and length, Williams is dangerous on fade passes in the red zone and uses his size to box out defenders.
“I really like Savion,” texted an AFC director of player personnel. “I think he might be best as a running back with wide receiver flex like Cordarrelle Patterson. He lacks instincts as a receiver. He’s best as a run after the catch guy. At running back, he looks instinctive. Watch how hard he runs, so he either is a Patterson like running back or a Laviska Shenault type WR/RB.”
In the 2025 NFL Draft, Williams looks like an early-round pick. He could go as high as the late first round and should not slip out of the third round. As a pro, he could be a dangerous weapon as a hybrid running back/wide receiver.
I had this guy picked as our main WR pick because he fits what ML wants to do offensively....he can line up in 3 spots as WR... can be a wingback/HB.... in a jam he can be QB. He adds to the Tucker Kraft Swiss Army knife guys on O. He just fits
LaFleur says Savion Williams is still a bit "unpolished" as a route runner, but there's a lot of ways to get him the ball. "You love the versatility."
