What the hell is going on out there ? Roster cut edition

If for future cap then why not trade him or play out the year? Doesn't make sense for team supposedly making a SB run. Had he played the year and we lost him at least would got a comp pick

MM is in the upper 1/3 as a HC. But at the same time how many wouldn't be if they have Rodgers as their QB?

What I do know is that addition by subtraction doesn't make your team better. Sutton wasn't only our best OL, but maybe the toughest SOB playing through injury since Favre. Would have let Lang or Bulaga go before Sitton.

How quick ppl forget the switch/swap of Lang/Sutton. That move improved the run game and helped pass pro.

True dat.. Which is why when GB gets to playoffs and it's the coaching gameplan that becomes the deciding factor in many games we watch, scratch our heads, and wonder what the heck MM/DC are doing sometimes. When the talent level is closer, and you have talent that can handle Arod (as opposed to the crappy NFC North) coaching gets exposed.

Last time #Packers locker room had a mood like today, and it didn't follow a playoff loss, was after WR Jordy Nelson tore his ACL.

Says a lot about how the players feel about this.

Old news now, but thought I'd weigh in. Obviously it was done to take our minds and concerns off the Masthay cut.
.
This is the winning statement! I needed that laugh.

Here's the full article from Wood:
Packers Bid Sitton farewell

So when Sitton texted he was about to be released Saturday, there was only one natural reaction. “Yeah,” Lang replied, “me too.” It was another joke.
“Then talked back and forth a little bit,” Lang said, “and I called him on the phone and didn’t really get the sense he was joking. His wife was talking with my wife, and it kind of became real then. I don’t want to sit here and act like I’m looking for sympathy. I felt bad. We all felt crappy. I knew he probably felt even worse. I mean, he loved it here. He wanted to be here. He wanted to finish his career here. That was obviously tough news for him.
“I had to remind myself that it’s not like he’s dead. That’s kind of how it felt. You’re kind of grieving about it, but it’s not like he’s dead. He’s still a phone call away. He’s still one of my best friends.”
The mood Monday afternoon could be boiled down to one word: disbelief. Not since receiver Jordy Nelson tore his ACL last preseason was the Packers' locker room such a solemn place. From lineman to lineman, devastation was written on faces.

This is a much bigger deal than people realize. Sitton wasn't just some scrub who couldn't hack it.

We talk about the leadership void of Woodson, Collins, etc... Well this is just as huge.

It'll be the rallying point of the season and the team will play with a chip on their shoulders as they realize that no one is safe from the chopping block....MM's Pittsburgh Macho psychology mind manipulation technique to win another SB.

So, Mark Chmura was on "Homer & Gabe" today and pretty much insinuated that he knew exactly what happened, that it had nothing to do with contract or salary, and that the best comparison he had is what happened to Wayne Simmons back in his day.

He also said that what happened is something that would probably have been tolerated in, say, Dallas or Baltimore. But not in Green Bay.

Take that for what it's worth.

Attacking TE's at the line of scrimmage?!?!? :)
