Technically not a bidding war. CBS has an exclusive window to negotiate that would have ended today

Doubtful....when it’s exclusive written in a contract to much legal liability both for Romo and networks I am sure they were aware of interest. There is some honor among thieves , you don’t want your guy poached

If ESPN wants Manning they better pair him with someone better than Tess. And they better class up that whole operation.

The league is not thrilled with Tess either. And as much as ESPN/ABC/Disney want a bigger chunk of the NFL package they will make the shield happy
 
Romo deal with CBS is $17.5M, ESPN was prepared to go 10-year, $140 million. And supposedly CBS offered Payton Manning a contract that is believed to be in the range of $10-12 million a year for five or six seasons....Manning did not bite

I do question if Manning wants to be in the booth or if he's holding out to be a team president like Elway
 
Manning is looking for something where he can show his skills on a high level. He's not going to spend his time in a booth. If nothing else, he believes he's "cerebral."
