The issue is I don’t see without getting Rodgers off the books you can even fit a $19m tag amount and comply with the rule of 51. Not sure on math but it would at least require both Smiths plus some major cap gymnastics to even get it close

I tried it on Spotrac it's possible but you are cutting Smiths, Turner, Amos, Lowry, Crosby, Cobb, Lewis and restructure Bak and Clark and extend and lower cap number of Alexender. It gets you to keep Rodgers and FT Adams but just by the thinnest of margins.

Doing all this to be able to trade both seems insane.
