Rodgers Wants Out

I totally agree with that. And while I disagree with much of what this FO does I applaud that’
That's why if the Packers get several high picks for Rodgers this could be a huge get for the team and a very large blunder on the team trading for Rodgers if he only plays 2 more years even 3.

The whole thing is about who gets to say when Rodgers leaves the Packers. Right now GB has all the real leverage and Rodgers is trying to get it back and use what he does have. We know they didn’t want to go past a year, but that may have changed. We don’t know that for sure. It’s not like this FO takes principled stances on this sort of thing, they get backed into bad contracts all the time. I can absolutely see them rolling over a bit on this one.
True lets say Rodgers does not win MVP and the team does not go to the NFCC. That could have changed how the team saw Rodgers and been open to saying yeah we are moving with Love in 2021 and trading Rodgers.

If is a dangerous words. There are no winners here

Yeah you commit to Rodgers 3 more years means Love plays out his whole career on bench unless traded. Then you force GB to say ok do we sign a guy who sat for 4 years or move on.
if (big if) the packers committed to 3 more years of rodgers and held onto love for all that time, they would be fricken idiots. and fricken a-holes for the way they ruined love's nfl career.

I’m just saying, it’s not the Ted Thompson days. When Ted moved on, he moved on. This group is squishy, they can be bullied a bit more. Don’t discount the possibility is all I’m saying.

Yeah but what value do you get for Love? If it's a day 3 pick is it better just to keep him as a backup or take the day 3 pick?

Possible but I suspect the parties knew “the timeline” before the season. This drama is not just 6 months in the making

Though him winning MVP and going to the NFCC his value will never be higher then it is now.

Agree it's 3 years, not 2, it's also him wanting them in a roundabout way to consider the Love pick was a mistake. It's petty from both sides really.
They both drew a line in the sand early. Both mistakes. Petty is one word, another is stubborn
