Rodgers Wants Out

The more I think about it, Love is here to stay. I say that because he's a known quantity, in as much as he knows the Packers system, can step in and play if necessary, is under contract for an extended period of time at a reasonable price for a QB, and even though he hasn't shown much, he will have the time to reach his highest potential as Rodgers' caddie.

Then there's salary cap. Cutting him means dead cap, and right now, it's not more of something the Packers need to look at.
I'm thinking this is the most plausible scenario for the reasons you listed, but like everything, you just never know what this FO is going to do.

I think even next year year 4 Love is cheap it would be year 5 he gets expensive but GB will now unlikley pick up year 5.
Depends on structure of Rodgers contract. Personally i see it as a 2-3 year deal in structure. They could also avoid the 5th year option with a small extension.

He’s basically locked in for 2 years. Past that who knows

I think Rodgers gets 4-5 years just to spread out cap hit. If I am Love I am pressing my agent to try to trade me as I really don't want to sit another 2 years.

Thing wit Love while he has no leverage sitting for 2 years means he's a FA with no starting under his belt and have zero idea if Rodgers will play 1 year or 4 more years. That's why I don't want to be in GB if I am Love because even if Rodgers retires after 2 years what kind of contract will GB offer me to start and will they even offer me a contract or decide that I can walk in FA?

Rodgers and Love have the same agent, don’t they?
I would think they have already talked about the “what if’s”.

Is Aaron signed beyond 2022?

If I'm Love, I wanna develop under Matt, and perhaps Aaron, since he's here. One more offseason/season he should be ready, if his progress continues at his current pace.

All depends right now per Rodgers there is no deal signed but Packers need new deal with him before next week. We will know his future after contract is sign and filed.

With Love all depends on Rodgers if the contract will commit him for 2-3 years then trade Love as he has no future in GB. If this is just a 1 year deal with Rodgers to keep him in GB for 2022 yeah then keep Love.
