Never hurts for PR to have someone famous as a partial owner to use for PR reasons.
For what PR reasons. Not for Lasry, it’s a damn 1%. Not for Rodgers. He’s been on record that he likes basketball. It’s not for PR.

If you ever need to help sell tickets to have a famous person as partial owner you can try to use them in PR to help

GBP my man, I love you but you gotta see the light on this stuff. The world of athletic business gives fewer shits about fan PR than politicians. It's all dollars and cents, and dollars and cents are increasingly detached from any fan behavior or opinion.

FP( Winning sells tix not some celebrity 1% shareholder. Lasry is also a very smart dude
I do agree winning sells but if you are a crappy team like Miami was you probably do anything to sell tickets.

I remember when this same question, about Spike Lee as a Knicks fan. People could have cared less that he's a Knicks fan. He just buys one of the most expensive seats in basketball, to watch games.

I'd say that pretty much says his presence doesn't do anything appreciable for attendance.

That said, I can remember long ago, when the Hollywood types in the LA area attended Rams, Lakers, Dodgers, and Angels games. It did create a slight boost in ticket sales because they were there, so often. After a few years, it was more or less gone.

If Rodgers is back tomorrow. I think he got a pay increase for 2021 and promise to be moved after this year.
