Ok I know Ted would never trade to get him but lets just say Ted would do this trade. Would you be as a fan wanting to make this trade knowing you would probably need to give up a 1st round pick to get him? That he is only under contract for 2 more years and would be 31 at the end of his contract?

I would have to say I would. $11 million a year is not much for a top flight CB. The Packers are in a win now mode and having Sherman would be by far better then anything you could get at pick 29. Also the leadership Sherman would bring would also be huge and he would be able to help perhaps teach the younger guys we have on the team. Also having Sherman as a lock down CB would also provide help to the DL and LB as it would give them more time to rush the passer.

But in all while this would make a lot of sense to do this type of trade we know it will never happen. First because Ted would never trade a 1st round pick. 2nd he probably still thinks Randall and Rollins are the answer at CB and he thinks he has fixed any holes by signing House. 3rd would Capers even know how to use Sherman in his defense?

nope not interested.

1. No way the seahawks trade to an NFC playoff team.

2. He was not that good after Thomas went down. Word is he lost a step to being slow to begin with.

3. I don't see him being a great leader. the seahawks are trying to move him for a reason.

I really don't think he is the lock down corner like he was. Doesn't he only play 1 side of the field?? I think he was a product of that scheme more then anything. Thomas made that secondary go. When he went down Sherm got torched. IF we really out shopping for a CB, head to AZ and try to get Peterson.

All my opinion of course but not interested in Sherm

NO WAY! Sherman is a descending player. IF he was still a shut down corner do you think Seattle would be shopping him? He is a lot closer to average without Earl Thomas next to him. Big CB without the long speed. This is just Carroll giving him a warning to shut up, he has been very critical of the offense on his own team and I think they've had enough.
To trade for a brash, mouthy older player who is descending would be total panic and I don't think we're at that point. But, that is just my opinion. Pass on this.

Wssp radio says report out 2 teams to likely get Richard Sherman is Saints or Packers

I wont believe it until I see it. The packers don't leak info so I would say any report right now is just speculation. Crazier things have happened though. If I am the seahawks, why am even thinking about dealing him to the packers who have kicked your tail for the last 2 seasons??

right or wrong, it would be a huge move and ppl cant say Ted isn't trying to get another ring for Rodgers. I for one just don't think Sherm is all that anymore

Right now it seems that their might be bad blood with Sherman and Seattle. But this would be against everything Ted stands for. While if this report is really out there I can see it being agent or Seattle driven to try to drive up trade market for Sherman.

Sherman plays his best as a PURE press man cover corner when his team get's pressure on the QB consistently... GB mix zone and meh pass rush won't help him and he will get frustrated and play like poo. Can't put it any straighter then that.

What we lack at the position is speed.

I mean yeah, we've got Josh Hawkins, but he's a scrub until proven otherwise.

Sherman is a slow corner who is in decline, until proven otherwise. I'd take him on maybe a Julius Peppers type deal, but I wouldn't trade for him.

Agree with others. He is in decline and imo has too big a personality to work well in GB

For me, it's all about the price. Is he in decline, yes, but even then he's still a capable CB. No, he's not a shut-down guy anymore like a few years ago, but then the Packers probably don't have anyone better right now either. This basically could/would be a 1-yr prove it deal because I think the Packers could release him with no CAP implications after 2017.

The thing is, what are you willing to pay. I'm not giving up any first round picks for him unless I get something back. If it's a 2nd, I'm listening. Take a pass rusher in Rd 1, Sherman essentially is your Rd 2 pick, a rookie CB in Rd 3 and a RB in Rd 4 and an OG in Rd 5 and I'd be OK with that. Is it a risk, sure, but a pretty small one and many of us have been clamoring for TT to take some occasional risks, me included. This would be a calculated, 1-2 year risk that for me doesn't have a ton of downside.
