Preseason Week 3 Green Bay vs Oakland Thread

Packer game will be much different from MN game. Vikes expect starting offense to play entire 1st half as they seek to find a rhythm.
Green Bay is choosing not to expose starters to risk of injury.

Uneasy is the throne the “Kings of the North” (as their ads call them now) sit upon.

Fatty thinks no one has to work together that everyone will just come out week 1 and just be tune with each other.

For us East coast folks it's pure bullpucky. I also think the NFL along with the NCAA can take their Friday night game and shove them up their backsides. Friday nights are for HS period. That was an unwritten rule agreed too for decades until a bunch of greedy bastards got involved. End rant. PS I am only good for a half maybe in this game.

Being a mid-westerner, I will not be watching the whole thing. Probably a good part of the first half. I would also like to see what Kizer can do with 'the starters'.

I am hoping that the rookies step it up this week and show why they were drafted.

The punt returner job looks interesting. I can't see them giving the job to Davis since he has been out all of the pre-season and part of camp. Rollins did so so. I'm curious to see who wants the job the most.

I understand the thought process.

MN has already two starting OL injured in preseason. One might be done for the year.

What would we be saying if it was the same for GB?

It’s a fine line between getting your team sharp for week 1 and trying to keep your core starters out of harms way at the same time.

Josh Jackson fielde one punt last week and returned it 41 yards, and had not practiced returns in camp at all.
This week Jaire Alexander gets his chance at returns.
Packers (in the past) have used both T-Will and Cobb as PR’s.
There’s a lot of potential at PR other than Davis.
If he’s still not playing this week, how can GB justify just handing him the job come week 1?

I will be shocked if the "starters" are not the same backups Kizer has played with already in pre-season

I agree Danno. Just handing the guy a job when there are others who can do the same job at least nearly as well, but double down better in other areas of the game makes more sense.
