I'd say Randall did more than OK. 6 tackles, 2 PDs, sold out to prevent that TE screen from turning into a TD and made the play of the game on 4th down.

Hard to say after one game but to my eyes it looked like after some early energy up front the D and the pass rush just lost gas in the heat and couldn't finish. Same with Jax, hence long drives by both teams. To their credit neither D broke.

This was Rollins worst performance that I've seen, game or practice. I'd expect much better, and certainly much better energy, going forward.​

okay. you convinced me. randall was better than okay. i still think the pass defense as a whole was not good. and i still say that we can ill afford to lose shields.

Agree about Shields. If he was concussed this is his 4th confirmed. When do we start thinking about early retirement for him. That's a lot of confirmed concussions
 
What happened with Cobb? Last play I saw he came up lame. Did he return? Haven't heard anything about an injury.
 
Ok on the 3rd down run to Starks half the OL thought it was pass play and lined up in pass protection the other half including Rodgers thought it was a run play. How in the hell can half the guys not know what's going on?

Perhaps most disconcerting was what happened near the goal line early in the fourth quarter. With a 24-20 lead, the Packers failed to score with three chances from inside the Jaguars’ 6-yard line. On third-and-2, Rodgers handed the ball to running back James Starks only to see most of the offensive line in pass-protection mode.

Half the guys thought it was a run, and I was one of them,” Rodgers said. “That’s why I handed the ball off. The other half was doing a pass. You’re not going to win a lot of games like that.”

"I think all of us linemen got a pass call; it's just a communication blunder,” right guard T.J. Lang said. “Not pointing fingers at anybody. We just need to be better as a unit, getting on the same page.

For some reason we always screw around while the play clock is dwindling. I don't know if this is by design- Rodgers checking the defense and getting everyone together - or if Mike isn't getting the play into Aaron's headset quick enough. This is the main thing that drives me crazy watching this offense. cra)

If you heard just how long some of the calls are and all the different language they contain, you wouldn't be surprised why even with a 40 second play clock most teams, after the myriad of adjustments that need to be made, have a hard time getting the play off with more than a few seconds left.

It's not like my old offensive playbook : "535 counter", "109 hb pitch", "545 bootleg pass right"
 
For some of the people really down on yesterday... What did you see across the league different? The parity is insane, and the lack of clubs risking players in practice and pre season is ever so evident. Sorry, this is what week one will look like from now on. That is how the league is. Is there room for a lot of improvement? You bet, and it will be addressed. That said, you are going to have moments where things aren't clicking, and players screw up. The goal in today's NFL is to have those issues gone by playoffs. That's why it's about getting hot and making runs. Hell we were 15-1 one season and were bounced early. The almost undefeated Pats lost the super bowl. It's a different league. I saw plenty of good things yesterday too. We are still a top team and have a very high ceiling.
