Post Game: Packers Defeat Bears 28-21

I am going to piss EVERYONE off , but guess what, I own the place, so it's okay....listen close and think long and hard before hitting reply:

There is literally holding on EVERY play in football at EVERY level. If they called, it EVERYTIME. The game couldn't be played.

Psst Psst..... The Packers OL holds..... A lot!

Bottom line... You guys are a bit over the top with it. I heard this same song and dance about Reggie, outstanding pass rushers get held, the refs don't see it. That's the way it is.

What is a rip move in the NFL?

A rip move is a pass-rush technique where the rusher will rip through the protection by going low and swinging through in almost an uppercut motion. Houston tried to do that on the play, and NFL rules allow offensive linemen to counter rip moves with blocks that would normally be called holding
appreciate the definition. but i really hate definitions that just use the same word that is being defined. "a rip move is where the defender rips". lol. i'm guessing that it doesn't involve any actual ripping or tearing. the rest of the definition is enough for me to understand what it is (i think). but it's the kind of definition that is pretty vague and open to interpretation. "going low" (how low is low?) and "almost an uppercut motion" (how much is "almost"?). it sounds like one of those rules that two different refs might rule the exact same play two different ways.

watch the video in the link I posted in my comment will show you how the rip move is done and how the arm of the OL goes across the throat of the pass rusher to hold them a lot

it doesn't piss me off at all. in fact, i think i have said that there is holding on virtually every play. i think there's garden variety holding and then there's flagrant holding. it seems to me that flagrant holding should always be called - regardless of whether it is reggie or lvn that's being held. that's just my opinion and i own it. but i'm not pissed off, and certainly not pissed off at you, mark.
