Post Game GB Defeats The Bungles 27-18

On radio station last night doing post game. Fans calling in and many complaining about Love. I swear many fans are spoiled and expect Love to be MVP Rodgers. Fans like that need to move into reality and accept that Love is never going to be a guy who might be a top 5 QB of all time. Packer fans should be happy that we have Love. When healthy I think he is a top 10 QB in the league. Most of the league would love to have Love as there QB. Green Bay has gotten very lucky that the have went to three straight QBs like Favre-Rodgers-Love.
This year he hasn't been top 10, he's been top 3. If you want to say that QB play overall hasn't been great, fine. He can only play in the time he plays but he's been excellent this year.

I think there are two things going on here: One, some fans will never forgive Love for being drafted instead of a WR for Rodgers, and it'll stay that way until he wins a SB.

And two, just saying this 100% straight - I'm probably the most right leaning person on this forum but even I know that a percentage of Packer fans will always dislike Love because he's black, and the fact that he's good makes them resent him even more and it's why they're the loudest of the bunch.

Keep those two things in mind when you listen to the call in shows, it'll make a lot more sense because no one calling in is actually complaining about his play.

Another part of it is that he's not Favre or Rodgers. People love to compare current players to their past "idols". My dad did this 'til the day he died, with Rodgers. He loved Favre and nobody was going to replace him. Every season he'd complain that Rodgers just wasn't that good and "not the QB we all expected". I'd tell my dad he's going to be a HOF'er and he'd say "I don't think so". I'm not sure what he was seeing but eventually I stopped arguing with him.

As for the game itself, the story for me was the lack of pressure by the Packers with Parsons, Gary, and Van Ness all healthy against a mediocre o-line. Seemed like Hafley started to blitz more in the second half which exposed the secondary more in 1-on-1 coverage against a couple of really good WR's. It made the game closer than it should have been.

Parsons needs to start earning his money getting a few tackles a game is not going to earn 48 million a year. Even if Parsons gets double or triple teamed we need to see 2-3 sacks per game out of Gary and Van Ness as they will be getting single blocked and need to be winning those battles.

So with how much farther it seems balls are flying are we going to see more teams now trying to find young strong legged kickers so they can not start trying FG's from 60+ all the time. Seems a matter of time were now the red line we see on TV will be the 50 yard line to attempt a game tying or game winning kick.

I agree they haven't made the most of their opportunities and it's disappointing right now. I will also say, in the aggregate, they have played 4 bad quarters of football on the season. They absolutely dominated the first half of this game, Cincy had 60 total yards of offense in the first half. Second half their guys started to make plays, and I think fans and Packers media collectively dismissed Jamar Chase when they had no business doing so. He had 110 yards and 2TDs in their game last week against the Lions, and Browning got benched after that game.

I will also continue to say, no defense is going to dominate when the offense in in 2nd and 5, 2nd and 4, 2nd and 3. Our corner group isn't good but my No. 1 trade target right now is a vet DT. They need to be able to stop the run on 1st down, even poor OLs like Cincy are able to push the line forward on our interior guys with Wyatt down. You can't wave a magic wand and make a Howard Green or Grady Jackson player appear out of thin air every year, but I think they're dying for a rock in the middle of that DL. Just my two cents.

The coaches bungling Zach Tom's injury is driving me nuts. Greedy. He is injured, let him heal.

Some interesting things here. Valentine is hardly out there it seems. Does GB not trust him?

Wicks also does not seem to be getting much playing time. Once Watson comes back that will probably even cut more into his playing time. I wonder if GB could move him to a team that could have depth at another spot GB can use.

Likely to last all season if they don't have patience and shelve him until its healed. It's a heckuva injury and needs time to heal properly. Rushing him back, just tweaks it and extends the healing time.
