I've re-watched a bunch of times that last 3rd down GB had, the deep throw from Love to Wicks that was incomplete. They only played it once in real time and just wanted to see what went wrong. The ball obviously went through Wicks' hands but I wanted to see what else happened, did Love get there late, did the OL hold up, did Wicks stop running etc.
Looking at it again I think Wicks was read 1 on that play, it was a kill shot for him. Love gets the snap and takes a beat to look off the safeties - a good thing - and then turns and fires to Wicks. Before re-watch I thought he may have been late seeing him but I think that was fine. He did one pat the ball, which seems to be part of his throwing process sometimes. One thing I didn't notice earlier was that as Love is going to throw, he gets a lot of muck from the pass pro right around his left (i.e. injured) plant leg and he made the throw off his back foot. He does that a lot but in this case probably smart/lucky. A DL split Myers and Rhyan and then walked Jacobs back into Love's leg, around the same time that Rasheed Walker's guy was approaching from Love's blind spot. Not ideal. And as for Wicks, for as good as he is at getting open, I don't think he actually plays the ball very well in the air. Trying to figure out what's off about his game and that might be the thing. I don't know that he needed to turn and leap for that ball like he did. People can say it was under thrown, but it ultimately went over his head and through his hands as he leapt for the ball - I don't think both of those things can be true. Really good WR in the league - and Reed is one of them - can catch that ball over their shoulders without doing a pirouette. I think Wicks misjudged it - thought it was more under thrown than it was - and then simply misplayed the ball with his hands.
So that's my breakdown - Love was a tick late patting the ball, couldn't get 100% on it because of the OL/DL trash incoming, but it was a pretty good ball, completely catchable and Wicks - after smoking his guy off the line - just misjudged and misplayed it.
