Post Game Eagles Edge Out Packers 10-7

I hate this, but we have a coaching/leadership problem. This is so similar to McCarthy the year he got fired.

If the other teams are calling out our plays before the snap it shows how predictable ML offense has become. Just like you said MM offense got stale and everyone knew what was coming.

I wonder if told to keep his job for next season ML will have to hire a new OC and give up play calling if he would do that? If so maybe a Brian Daboll as OC then?

We’ve seen the same issues across multiple HC staffs. Poor depth and poor OL play. Without massive changes in the FO and scouting department I wouldn’t hold my breath any new HC does much better. The FO and scouting dept is a result of front office inbreeding. It needs new ideas and fresh blood at the top.

GB FO massively over values its own players. They get more chances than they should.

GB is what it is. They may still make the playoffs. But this isn’t a talented team underachieving. It’s a decent team playing like it.

Love isn’t the issue. Considering what other teams are starting GB should be happy they have him.

As for ML, he’s trying to simplify things it seems because he lacks talent to work with. A winning mentality is demand the players elevate or they are gone and GB will find someone else until they hit on a good combo. But GB doesn’t work like that.

If Gute is fired I am looking to see if there is someone in Philly that has been with there GM for a while and knows how he works and look at hiring him for the GM role.

I heard someone else talk about this on a podcast and I think he's right: GB and ML may come to a mutual parting of ways, but they're not going to fire him. There are a bunch of college programs looking to spend big bucks on coaches, what if one of them approaches ML's agent and offers him $10m a year? Remember all that fun stuff ML came up with for the Malik Willis offense, maybe someone wants to hire him as a guy to rebuild the culture while also offering some Xs and Os stuff. GB may be sitting there hedging on whether or not to extend him, or force him to give up play calling, but if he has options, why would he? He can go to a college program for a few years and then bounce back to the NFL in a couple years for another HC gig.

I wonder if it was a wise move for Policy to publicly hold off on extending Gute and ML. It put pressure on both of them in a way that I'm not sure was healthy. Does Gute trade two firsts if he has a longer stake in the future of the team? Is ML coaching so uptight if he does?

I think Gute trading two firsts shows he is not the talent everyone thinks he is.

He misread the biggest need of the team and handicapped them next draft. In a way I think that pressure you mentioned is correct. Gutey panicked and now GB is stuck.

Please stop, they are not firing him, nor is he going anywhere. Pure foolishness

They aren't fire Gute either... that stadium was full last night, Titletown is bringing in cash..... GB has zero reason to fire anyone

We've been bitching about the offensive line since last year. It's amazing how bad they are and still collecting a paycheck.
'
And, it's not all the physical blocking stuff. It's the mental stuff where they're not even doing the right stuff at the right time or not focused and jumping. AGGGHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!
The GM has paid a lot of attention to the OL, he's put a lot of resources there and it's utterly failed. It's not malpractice, just failure. Bad scouting, pro and college.

Worst of all, they're playing guys now due to FA status and draft status. Banks has been awful. If he's injured then put him on IR. Instead they play him every week and he's just been terrible. Morgan is not an ascending player, he's just mediocre. They're playing him only because of draft status. He should be at LG right now but they cant put him there because of the $77m they paid Banks. Kinnard should probably be starting at RG right now. Our 2nd round "LT" can't make the field in any capacity, not even as a speed bump. They can't execute ML's offense and our QB's eyes are now dropping to the OL and he can't see open receivers.
