Depends if a person is willing to wait. And money talks. It's an open marketplace. In my industry lenght of time with a firm is 5-7 years on average.

Sure there is but you're talking 3 here and not all 3 would be in that pool. Wolf had a GM job in his hat .. unless you are willing to tell him my job is yours then you allow him to move up. Any other reason is as stated above "bush league"

As for the second part, again, just as with the players, if the guy wants a particular job enough to sign a contract that includes that language, he's (IMO) forfeited his right to complain if the team implements the clause.

Succession plans and/or promises of a promotion cannot be included in a NFL contract. Player contracts are much different. In reality player contracts are one year deals. Yes guarantee money can be involved but teams can cut or release a player at any time. Do they have a right to complain? Yes. As too non compete agreements if you are employed in a right to work state they are non enforceable. You cannot deny a person the right to work in his particular field. Now are there exceptions yes. Mostly at the CEO level but even then it's tricky. I've signed non competes in my career. Never cared really since I knew they were basically unless

I guess I wonder why this article wasn't printed prior to the TT interview about the draft. I assume they have been working on it for a while. I don't see anywhere in the article about asking any of these guys how they felt about being denied the interviews or ask TT why he denied them. I'm sure they would have a no comment but at least we would know they were asked. Basing an article off what others think happened is just an opinion. Nothing about this article gives me that smoking gun feeling but rather an attempt to make TT look bad. Now that is just my opinion.

If one guy got denied not much there but 3? And that coupled with Murphys comment on a plan I think it's open game. And imo the organization has opened itself up to be second guessed going back to the Rob Davis issue. I think there is more here than most want to believe. JmoI'm just saying Pack I don't think this is a real news story but other motives involved. You never know maybe TT smiled during the interview and that really ticked them off.

I occasionally misread or misstate and therefore end up on a tangent. For the bold, did that come up in our discussion before? Never thought about.
On the contract side, I'm obviously one of those that believes "you sign it, you live with it". Mark's position may be true, but, regarding a signed contract, we now have an unwritten rule not to enforce a written rule? If so, why bother to put the clause in that allows the organization to refuse? Nobody who was depending on the unwritten rule would ever agree to a position with the Pack. For me, while interesting, this is starting to veer OT, so I'll leave it up to the folks who know about this.
