but the simple fact of the matters remains that "all the resources they’ve poured into the def over the years" have been wasted. the defense is full of guys that can't (or won't) play well enough to justify the resources spent. it's not like i am expecting that to change while gute is still the one controlling the acquisitions, but maybe the new defensive staff can get more out of the guys we do have. i'm thankful that we were able to trade away the biggest waste of space on defense. maybe that will wake up some of the others. anyway, i'm going to wait at least until midseason before i totally give up on the new staff.Moving the scheme that much smells too much like defensive rebuild to me. After all the resources they’ve poured into the Def over the years. It doesn’t give good vibes.
I agree with this, I think we have more holes than the front office cares to admit and not a lot of ways to fill them. If we can stay healthy, we should be competitive in every game; however, to Mark's point, the past two seasons, we have lousy depth everywhere.I worry about the move to a new defense in general, but it's a few spots down the list of worries compared to some others. I actually think Parsons, Cox, Sorrel, and Oliver sort of fit the 3-4 Edge types. LVN is less of a fit to me but can probably sorta pull it off .
No matter what front we play, it seems to me we lack the DL and CBs to make any defense work at a high level. They need a NT and another DE. They also kinda suck at CB. If they don't fix those positions it won't matter who the DC is and what the scheme is.
And don't even get me started on the o-line where we currently have 4 starters who have never proven to be at least average for an entire season, and the one guy (Tom) who has proven it, is coming off a major injury. Plus they just have a bunch of unknowns as back-ups other than Kinnard. Big worry for me.
i wonder how that happened.I think we have more holes than the front office cares to admit and not a lot of ways to fill them.

Yes...he's a complete moron. His opinion hasn't been relevant about GB in years.Has not Rob Reischel been known as a clown for bad takes?
