Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

The problem is that those stadiums are multi-purpose. concerts...soccer...other events. You have to be to make things pencil. Wears on grass and Turf is an easier go.

I think the hybrid solution GB had for years was the best, with synthetic sown into the grass.
True though GB is smart they only do one event a year for a concert and it's weeks or months before an actually game the Packers play is held to make sure the field is in top condition. Place like NY and Chicago have concerts and events during the season which tears it up.

yeah, iwent to a few of those mega concerts in soldier field back in the 70s. saw some great shows there.

"It is a clean ACL tear. Going to have surgery after they strengthen around the knee in the coming days and weeks. It is a nine-month recovery, so he has a chance, I would say a good chance, to be ready for the start of the 2026 season."

Looking at Rashan Gary contract I can't see any team willing to take that contract in a trade.

2026 base salary is $18 million and 2027 base salary is $21 million. No team is going to extend him based on his play to lower the cap hit.

Most likely he's a cap cut some team signs to 1 year prove it deal. GB has choice to take cap hit of $17 million and save $11 million in 2026 or make him a June 1st cap cut and save $19.5 million for 2026. You though then kick another $8.5-9 million of dead cap to 2027 doing that.

Take your medicine now, they're going to need future cap for re-signings.

Packers FA's after the season

Malik Willis, Romeo Doubs, John Fitzpatrick, Sean Rhyan, Rasheed Walker, Quay Walker, Nick Niemann, Kristian Welch, and Kingsley Enagbare.

Out of this list I can see Rhyan come back to be starting OC and they resign Quay Walker. The rest are replaceable players you can't afford to bring back.

I think Wyatt gets a contract to lower his 5th year cap number. The Packers also extend Kraft in the off-season. Watson they might look into giving him a long term deal as well but could hold off on him into next season to see how he preforms.

No way in heck do you give Watson a long term deal…
