interesting that we hear so much about how bad tom is.

Putting in my three scents (because it's more important than 2):

  • Regarding Love:
    • I like him.
      • I think he's got a ton of talent.
      • I do think he goes brain dead sometimes - see joke.
        • I think if he has problems it's between his ears
        • I think much of that could be still doing to much trying to live up to his contract on every damn play
          • Hopefully, he'll learn the Pack Fans would rather have victories and Lombardies over amazing plays - at least me.
      • I think he has to get better before he leads the Pack to the promised land.
    • My Joke last Sunday:
      • C'mon it was funny. And, it's true. Doesn't mean I don't like him.
      • But he has a lot of brain fart moments that cost the Pack or make the Pack's life much more difficult.
      • And, the Talking Heads On The Boob Tube hold that against him. It's just the way it is.
      • Who cares if the Talking Heads On The Boob Tube praise him, if he brings us a Lombardi. I don't.
    • Him being Black
      • I'm a conservative Red Neck.
        • I haven't heard anybody say anything about his color.
        • I get called every name in the book because I'm a conservative Red Neck.
          • I've never thought that
          • I've never had anybody tell me your just criticizing him because of his color.
            • I have a lot of liberal minded friends who without reality constantly accuse me of not liking stuff because of the presenter's color because I'm a conservative Red Neck.
      • I'm not saying that nobody is against him because of his color, I'm saying I would probably run into it and haven't.
        • Or when I criticize a play would be accused of it by some and haven't.
      • I'm hoping it's not happening
        • But, I'm sure a very small minority are against him because of his color.
        • I don't have time for them.
  • Coaching:
    • LaFleur:
      • "The Defense isn't in shape?" And round, is not a shape for a professional football player. LaFleur inspires me less and less every time he talks.
        • Either, he really doesn't speak off the cuff well, or he's as bad as I'm starting to lean to.
      • Not changing the system. I agree you don't change the system. But when you have shiny new toys when you have shiny new toys that will make the system fly in 4th gear, you shift out of first.
      • Don't take the pedal off the metal - ever, see below
    • Hafley:
      • Tourism Federation Of Wisconsin: What the hell is happening? The Pack doesn't have a safe lead in the 4th.
        • LAFLEUR!!!! Keep the pedal to the metal.

The defense not in shape; I had ESPN radio on running an errand and Mark Schlereth made a comment about conditioning and how the limitations in the number of practices "IN PADS" has had an impact of conditioning and the quality of play. I don't disagree that we see that a lot in the first month of the season . . . but to have our defense supposedly wear out in the 2nd half, after a bye . . . . I think its a combo of in shape, and conservative play calling. Once you let up a bit it's hard to turn it back on . . . we need to come out the first series in H2 and have our defense go all out like we're behind, including aggressive defensive play calling.

Other defenses put up a better fight against our unstoppable offense than our # 1 great defense puts up against crappy offenses.
other teams cheat and practice more than they are supposed to. to get away with that, you have to have 100% buy-in from the players.
