Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

With those two wins, the Packers became just the fifth team since the AFL-NFL merger in 1970 to open their season with two straight victories over teams who each won at least 12 games in the previous season.

I don't think this would be a great use of relatively limited cash and cap space in the coming years.

To me those are the big ones and it's going to be expensive. I like Quay, I think he's really improved but I just don't think you pay big money to him. You've gotta make roster sacrifices somewhere and I think if you want to replace Quay with athleticism you have Hopper, and if you want competence honestly they could stick Welch in there, I don't think he's worse than, like, Blake Martinez. We'll see.

Agreed. Roster sacrifices sometimes hurt but as you say, I think there is competent replacements on the roster. Unless they see and know something we don't. I just don't like this move.

To be fair, it’s a rumor at this point. We shall see

I hope that's all it is. I like Quay, but as you said, there's gonna be a few more guys I'd rather pay. I just don't think he requires big money thrown at him.

The Packers are currently working on a Long Term extension for LB Quay Walker, despite the Packers receiving 2 trade offers for the former Georgia product. Green Bay has told teams they plan to extend Quay. The two teams are the Chargers, who offered a 4th, and the Saints, who offered a 5th.

A 4th and 5th for Walker I would tell them both to shove it. For that it's worth keeping him for the year just for depth even if you would not resign him. Would get either a 4th or 5th as draft comp pick
