Packers 2025-26 Season Thread

Just saw this. Give him credit he puts time in on his own to try to improve. Our last 2 QBs in the offseason drank beer and hunted and took mushrooms and went into darkness during the off-season.

The one before this guy, showed up at Badgers games, showed up at Bucks games, showed up at Brewers games (until his buddy who he vehemently defended was found to have taken steroids), although he drank Scotch gave good efforts at slamming beers with Bahktari and other big guys, and quietly contributed to and participated in all kinds of Wisconsin charities while being maligned for not being a true Wisconsin guy, chewing tobacco, getting falling down drunk, hunting, fishing, and meandering from his girlfriend and wife.

None were perfect. But, Rodgers sure does get maligned because he wasn't a good ol' boy like his predecessor.

Not a bad deal overall

Though according to this unless he hits bonus money his 4 year deal pays out 4 years $46.4 million not $48 million so not sure if some numbers are wrong here.

Cap Numbers would be

2025 $5.8 million
2026 $12.65 million
2027 $13.65 million
2028 $14.3 million

Second option if you take the $6.25 RB in 2026 and convert it to SB.

2025 $5.8 million
2026 $8.48 million
2027 $15.73 million
2028 $16.39 million

So if he would not be living up to contract could cut him after 2 years and take on either $8 million dead cap with option 1 or $12.17 dead cap with option 2.

Reasonable deal for the player I think. He seems like a good and willing tackler, and has taken very few penalties. Has an injury history and inconsistent play. Not a big time starter but quality.

So are the Packers becoming the Las Vegas Raiders East now that they have signed 2 free agents from the team in the past couple seasons? LOL
