Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

I mean, Gute said at his last presser that they planned on bringing Crosby back. The real issue is that they legit may not be able to afford him. If Rodgers isn't traded until after June 1 then they have a good deal more space in 2023, so that decision might not be made until then.
At this point is Crosby worth anything mor than vet min? He does not have the leg strength he used to and if he's asking for 2-3 million for a season it likely then would be best to move on to a rookie kicker.

Your guess is as good as mine. All I can go by is what the GM said. He expressed a lot more enthusiasm for the kicker than his (soon to be former) starting QB so I believe him when he says they want him back and plan to get him back, but if you're Crosby and his agent, why not wait the team out? He doesn't seem to want to retire or play elsewhere, and the org over the past couple GMs has a history of overpaying their own older players. Doubt he's in a rush.

I figured this was case Packrs can pretty much offer him vet min and Crosby feels he can get more he can good for him. But a rookie kicker is only 750K for a team on a tight budget.
He was singing a different tune last month but that was before all these other signings, crazy as it seems they may well be priced out on him.

Got to wonder though how much are kickers like him and Gould worth? I think both those guys might have to wait until after the draft to sign as teams will see who gets drafted and who might get cut after the draft.

@RobDemovsky · 10m LaFleur said he’s leaving the details of the Rodgers situation to Brian Gutekunst and Joe Douglas. But he wanted this clear: “I’ve got nothing and appreciation for what Aaron has done for so many in our organization.” Added he’s disappointed they didn’t win a Super Bowl together. LaFleur said during this process, Jordan Love “just wanted to know what was going on. For a long period of time, I couldn’t even tell him because we didn’t know where it was quite headed. There’s obviously some clarity to it, but nothing (is final).”

LaFleur said the approach to training camp and preseason will be much different as they get Jordan Love ready. He's planning joint practices with another team but also will play Love extensively in the preseason games.

How to say you are F'd at safety without saying you are F'd at safety.

On the defensive side, LaFleur said they're not planning to start out with Rasul Douglas at safety. In fact, he plans to move him back outside instead of in the slot. Keisean Nixon will get the first shot at the slot. He still thinks safety is Darnell Savage's best spot.

And what to do with Stokes?

This really makes no sense to me since Stokes has the speed (or did before the injury) and Rasul does not. Savage proved he cannot handle Safety.

This is a disaster waiting to happen, IMO.

Read a tweet today that sounds like they are not sure if Stokes will be ready by week 1 from his ankle injury
