Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

Besides Gary no, I believe they are (for all intents and purposes, because they can get a half a mil here and there but nothing significant) tapped out.
That’s pretty bad cap management from the FO over the past few years. TT must be rolling in his grave…

Just have to get through the next few years and wait for all this to work itself out.

Yeah most likely I can see some post June 1st cuts next year so might be what 2026 before you really can clear up all this pushing money into future years and have actual cap space to use.

Starting in 2019 they juiced up the roster in an attempt to win it all while Rodgers was still QB. They stretched the life of those contracts well past their prudent date in an attempt to not have to rebuild. Chickens always come home to roost.

Yes TT would be spinning in his grave, but guess what? His own chickens came home to roost in the way he drafted and built the roster. Both ways come with a cost and winning it all is tough. Swinging too hard comes at a cost, swinging too soft comes with a cost as well, and at the end of the day you need to ball to bounce your way as well.

$19 million kicked into 2024. SMH will GB every learn their lesson?

They gotta hit on some rookies. Ride those rookie contracts for a season or two. Find some "Gutey gems" like Lazard, Rasul, Nixon. Give them a cheap season or two to prove themselves, then reward them when we can.

Gutey's gotta play Money ball.

Packers resign ST Rudy Ford to 1 year deal worth up to $2.5 million.
