Packers 2023-24 Season Thread

@BenFennell_NFL

1st round pick Lukas Van Ness.. 13th overall pick. Let's check in! 209 snaps on defense (35% playtime) 100 Pass Rush Attempts - 45 Stunts/Games (3 Pressures) - 55 True Rushes (7 Pressures)

This team is going nowhere so Van Ness should be getting all the time he can get to learn on the job. Hate this crap of bring them on slow so by year 3 they can maybe finally be a starter.

And you're calling what vs 7 DB"s..... frankly, no one was open or getting open vs that defensive call. We don't have an elite WR that can get open in that situation...not 1, so it's a moot point.
On that play I think Love needed to pull a Rodgers and try to scramble around while someone tried to get open. As a set/timing play there was no option remotely open. Issue was that Watt and the other fella for Pitt are fast as hell so not sure how much time he could've bought himself.

Walker had already been pushed back into Love in that short amount of time, so I think something that let Love move would have been good.

Jordan Love may have had some struggles but at least he has not thrown the ball into his OL head yet.

Per this, Christian Watson has faced more double coverage than any other qualifying receiver league wide to this point. Interesting that he's still drawing that much attention despite the lack of production.

EDIT: Wicks is getting open, and they probably need to give some of Doubs' looks to him.

Very interesting. I wouldn't have thought that, but maybe, just maybe they worry about his speed and "what could happen" if they didn't double him. Makes me think that ML and Co. should know this and plan accordingly. If he's drawing double, then someone else has to win their one on ones.

It's not clear exactly how often he's drawing a double but they don't seem to be taking advantage of those situations and mismatches when they do happen.
