This is probably what is happening on a lot of pass plays. Both on the WR and on Love at times.

That’s the heart of the matter. Love is not a steady, mistake free presence that the young WRs can lean on to develop their games. The WR are not steady, mistake free presences that the first year starting QB can lean on to develop his game. Where is the help coming from? Who is setting the bar?

I think that’s what Gute’s comments were about. He didn’t single out Watson but i think they were expecting more out of him specifically to be a difference maker for Love. And his comments on Love weren’t wrong - started strong, got knocked down. Now you have 10 games to show us you can get back up and learn from the stretch. Somebody, somewhere has to elevate and steady their game.

My exact thought. The fact that he didn't believe Gutey, and hung up on him, told me that Murphy is the one with all the power. Sometimes it takes an event that's unexpected to open the door for what's actually happening.
