Packers 2022 Thread

Even though it was pre-season, we did see Doubs show an ability to read zone and find the soft spots.
Let’s hope it wasn’t a mirage
And it was pretty vanilla coverage. Let’s see when DC’s run some exotic stuff.

I guess you have to make them prove it but Rodgers/Lazard/Cobb will absolutely eat up zone coverage IMO, whereas I question if any of these guys can really beat man.

I actually have a bit of a hard time even picturing it because of how often Adams was out there and how much defenses geared their coverage towards them.
Yeah those 3 will, but when you roll some coverage to Lazard the adjustments will be interesting to watch.

I'll load the box and play press man which outside of Adams no one has beat. I'll also blitz the $*&* out of you and get after Rodgers.... Teams that have done that beat us more times than not.
And now, more than ever, it would appear this is the way to shut down the Packer offense. Unless there's something we don't see, it could be early season disaster.

While I agree with both of you, the key is will they get pressure on AR with the blitz? If they can, then yes loading the box and blitzing will make it difficult on the Packers offense. If they do not get pressure, then AR should be able to beat them; especially, if they are blitzing LB's and not getting there. It is a risky proposition, IMO.

I think we have more trouble with defenses that can get pressure with their front 4, play physical tight man, and keep their LB's in the middle for quick dump offs and crossing routes. They can also keep two deep safeties to prevent one on one deep balls which we know AR likes to throw. We should be able to run the ball on these defenses but I have not really seen us do it consistently.

Mark since you are the defensive guru, any thoughts on this?

If Packers start Jake Hanson at RG there is you weak spot to attack on the OL.

You can't beat it if your WR can't get off my physical DB and make them pay plus in our offense the WR has to make the correct adjustment with the QB for that to work..... not sure we have that. You could run screens and a quick slat but again the slant means you have to get off the press.

I think inside zone or a draw mixed in can be effective if you can block my blitzing backers.

What about the offense where the QB scrambles around, waves his arms, bails the pocket and tries to wing it every other play? Can that work with current personnel?
