Official Week 13 Green Bay vs Detroit Thread

Maybe the answer to this is that the team should start playing like a team that relies on the defense. Ball-control offense, plenty of run, take big shots once in a while instead of all the time.
MM should swallow his pride, adjust the scheme (doesn't mean overhaul) and start controlling the clock, concentrate on moving the chains (too many 3 and outs over the last month), get a lead and let the defense play from ahead. I know that might be over simplifying, but until you find your offensive rythm, just move the chains. Everything else will fall into place. We're 7-4, they're 4-7; we just need to play like it.

DET is 3-1 over last four including beating GB at Lambeau.... Packers are 1-3 over last four.. Perhaps they should start playing like DET? sp)

Partial sarcasm aside. Gb needs to find that fire and start playing like they believe in themselves. Playing like they are take no prisoners, we will kick your butt, type attitude. That's where it all starts IMHO... And the two guys that seem to be playing like that are Lacy and Starks. So ya, lean on them and use them.

Green Bay is suddenly scrambling as both of its top two centers (and two other starting offensive linemen) are nicked up for Thursday's contest in Detroit.

The Green Bay Packers have a big question mark across the entire offense after the unit's performance these past few weeks. However, they have an urgent one at a critical position this week as they prepare to take on the Detroit Lions on Thursday night.

After Wednesday's practice, the Packers listed both of their top two centers, Corey Linsley and JC Tretter, as questionable for the game. Tretter's injury comes as a surprise, as he was not listed on the report prior to Wednesday. He was limited today with an ankle issue, however, suggesting that whatever problem exists happened during practice.

If both players are forced to sit out, that puts the Packers in a tough spot on the offensive line. T.J. Lang might be pressed into emergency duty at center, with Josh Walker filling in for Lang at right guard. Of course, that's assuming that Lang can play as well, as he is also listed as questionable. Meanwhile, Bryan Bulaga has not practiced all week and is also listed as questionable. It's all speculation at this point as to which players will be able to go on Thursday, and it's possible that one or both of the centers will still play, but we will be refreshing our browsers constantly at about 90 minutes prior to kickoff tomorrow night to see the inactive list.

Here's the full injury report, which does feature a bit of good news - Jared Abbrederis and Micah Hyde are Probable and appear ready to return to game action after practicing fully all week.

Green Bay finishes up a four-game divisional stretch with a trip across Lake Michigan to the Motor City.

It feels like forever since the Green Bay Packers have played on a Sunday, even though it has been less than two weeks since it last happened. Still, the Packers get their second straight Thursday Night game this week and their fourth straight matchup against an NFC North opponent. The rival franchise bookending this 19-day, 4-game stretch is the Detroit Lions, who broke their decades-long losing streak at Lambeau Field three weeks ago.

This week, the Packers will try to exact some revenge on a Lions team which is suddenly riding high. Detroit has won three straight, with their streak starting in Green Bay. And coming off an explosive offensive performance on Thanksgiving Day against the Eagles, Detroit has plenty of reason to feel confident leading up to Thursday's rematch.

GB in a close one 31-27. It won't come easy. We are on the edge in regards to injuries... a bad week in that dept could get us in a very bad spot.

With no reason to back it up at all. I think the Pack puts it together. Up tempo, move the chains, get Detroit into a shoot out, Stafford does a Jay Cutler impersonation, two Defensive TDs and the Pack wins 38-21.

This game marks a decision making change: instead of chucking it deep to covered WRs on 3rd and short; we start treating it as two-down territory and grind out some drives. A fan can dream!!

They are assuming that GB has anybody that is fast enough to get downfield behind the DEF for those big plays ;)

DET has already beaten GB at Lambeau, they are playing at home, they are on a roll, playing with fire, and look like a team reborn. At this point GB shouldn't get the benefit of the doubt.

DET 35-24 Just can't see GB being able to handle a revitalized DET team at thier house, with the mess that is our WR/TE's....

What I will be watching for is what young guys are making their case for next season. Who is busting their butts on the field, and who obviously spent the time studying film and using practice time to get better.
I hear ya CD. I said it in shout. Lions are on the upswing after beating the Packers. Its in their house and that place will be rocking. Detroit definitely has the momentum in this game. How Green Bay still has the edge, is beyond me.

Injuries are piling up, making this one very touch and go.

With our receivers having difficulty making seperation, a banged up offensive line is a recepie for disaster

The Lions have every reason to be confident and the Packers do not. I sincerely hope they do something different because with our receivers being the walking wounded, it we keep the trying to do the same thing, it will be a long night. :(
