Official 2020 Week 4 Green Bay vs Atlanta Thread

Things went better than I anticipated. Tonyan was on point. He is going to be an outstanding TE if he keeps this up.

The defense wasn't superb, but they pretty much held Jones, who was not himself and Ridley in check. Z. Smith got several sacks and all I can say is, it's about time. For the most part I was pleasantly surprised. I was concerned that it would be a shoot out and would be a lot closer than it was.

It's nice to see Rodgers utilizing the tools that he has instead of trying to make something happen, which is what he has done in the past. He is learning to play within the system. For a while I couldn't figure out why they were not using A. Jones more. Then they said that they were not trying to over using him.

If I had to pick a dud in the game, it would be LeFleurs playcalling when they were on the one yard line and didn't get it in. Not very creative there and rather frustrating. Even I could figure out that running wasn't going to get it done.

Hope the guys rest up. Heal up and don't do anything stupid.

amen to that. and he did it again in the opening drive of the second half. the run game may be a key part of ml's overall strategy, but he needs to be aware of the times when it just isn't working and the passing game is where we have the matchup advantage.

43,42,37, and 30. Average 38 per game. The only thing that could be a concern is that they've fallen to 30 in game 4. That could be attributed to a more conservative game plan, because of injuries.

What they do coming out of the bye is extremely important. Can they continue to put big numbers on the board, or will defenses catch up with them? If they rattle off four more games with above average scoring, they could be for real.

I do think a lot of us were mistaken when we thought that they made a mistake not grabbing a top level WR. I believe they knew what they had, and also, how they could get the best out of who they had. So far, that's been the case. Especially when we've lost our best receivers like we have. That 37 & 30 point scoring effort shows that we do have guys stepping up.

ML has done a wonderful job in year 2 of his program. They guys are playing fast and loose. His game planning and play calling have been been outstanding. He's got the offense humming and the team seems to be gelling nicely.

I don’t really have an issue with the beginning of the half. They must have seen something at half and part of the key to this offense is to not give up on the run even if your being shut down, it sets up play action and on zone scheme your going to pop one. The goal line play was a head scratcher but maybe 12 saw something and checked out of another set.
 
I like how the offense seems to have a rhythm. I think it's making it easier on everybody. It seems like everyone is pretty much on the same page and going with the flow. Rodgers looks like a kid again, looks like he really likes the options, and looks like he's seeing the whole field again.

And, I know it hasn't been against the greatest secondaries, but our guys are wide open.

If the defense could catch the tackling bug, we'd be very dangerous.

Excited to see them after the bye.

the run had zero to do with setting up success in the passing game. atalanta was playing guys in their secondary who shouldn't even be on an nfl squad. that's what set up success in the passing game.

Yeah ATL might be the most beat up team we will see all year. They were short handed at safety coming in and lost 2 more guys in the course of the game. The upcoming TB game might be the best test we have faced on defense all year so far.
