This is a difficult week for a team playing on Thursday. The cut down day makes for a short week of practice for openers, and then bringing in guys who aren't going to get prep time for this game. It has to be frustrating.

I too found it odd that Madison made it..
 
JMHO, but I think they saw more long term potential/higher ceiling in Madison than McCray.
Madison had a whole year of rust to knock off and was asked to learn both Center and Guard. No easy task for anyone, let alone a guy who sat at home for 12 months.
