This says it all... 3rd and 9 in the 4th, needed the 20 or the game is over.

3rd and 9, ball at the 5. Why did they need to get to the 20? If the ball was snapped at the 11 and Hundley dropped that far back and the line collapsed 8 yards that is the real issue.
