No. 1 Wisconsin Badgers extend shutout streak in season-opening win against Lindenwood

Attendance at the game, 252. That's too bad. Obviously people in St. Louis don't appreciate hockey as much as they should. I realize Lindenwood isn't a top level team, but it was a chance for people to see a Badger team that has a lot of talent.

Too many people only support winners.

It's like that at a lot of women's hockey programs. Even schools in Minnesota (Bemidji, MN St, Duluth even) are only drawing 45-65% and those are 700-1500 seat barns.

Heck, before LaBahn was built, the UW Women were averaging something like 4-5k in attendance, and the new place was built to seat about 2500 and it's averaged capacity for the duration so far.

These small venues may be cost effective as far as plant costs, but they don't create an event environment big enough to dramatically move people to attend games.
