Looking for playmakers

Remember though Packers have never valued WR high. Last time we took one in first round was Javon Walker. Last time a 1st round TE was Franks and I can't even remember last time they took a RB round one.

Unless they're 5th round or later for throwing their pregnant girlfriend down the stairs, or masturbating on athletic trainers - those guys make it but maybe we still shouldn't draft them. sh))

This underscores all the variables that go into evaluating a player to draft.

They drafted a number of pro bowl caliber WR's in 2nd though.

We couldn't take offensive players because Capers screwed up the defense so bad that we kept trying to fix it by drafting defensive players. If we had only gotten rid of Capers the year after winning the Superbowl, things would have been extremely different.

Well Capers did not draft those defenses. Thompson did. Look at how many misses he had. Since the SB win...Perry, Worthy, D Jones, Dix, Thornton.

Perry and Worthy were drafted in 2012. 1st and 2nd round misses. 2013 1st round miss on Jones. Sorry as many faults as Capers had Thompson was pathetic building that defense

In last 40 drafts Packers have had 41 1st round draft picks and only have draft 7 offensive skill picks in that time: 2 WR, 2 RB, 2 QB, 1 TE.

Out of those 7 only 2 panned out. The RB's were a bust Walker played his way out of GB pretty quick and Franks was good but never great and Campbell sucked.

I think a better measurement would be rounds 1-3. Better sample size

This is true but MM/DC had a lot of input into the type of players they took... most of which were square pegs into round hole types. Honestly the combination of TT and Capers was ill advised and MM let it go on 3 years too long.
