Jordan Love Agrees To Long Term Deal

The contract is short compared to some others in this list but overall I think the contract is right about where it needed to be. $55m annual value, massive signing bonus. Love’s camp can trumpet that, and the fact that it’s 4 years rather than 5 or more. On the other hand, GB’s FO didn’t give him some crazy earth shattering deal.

I thought it was 220M and it was guaranteed. How are they figuring this?

The only thing to be aware of is the NFL getting sued for Sunday Ticket. Could the salary cap go down the next year or two due to that?

Should they save some cap money as a buffer?
That's going to take years to move through the courts and will end up in front of SCOTUS. For the next couple season at least a non factor

and even then it would be similar to the concussion lawsuit. They didn't drop the salary cap due to the settlement of a lawsuit and subsequent payouts, that has nothing to do with player salaries

Gutekunst on Love: "I know he's going to work to be the best version of himself. The growth and learning he's done, I don't expect that to change. We want him to be himself and keep doing what he's doing."
@TomSilverstein · 50s #Packers GM Brian Gutekunst said he was confident Jordan Love's deal would get done sooner than later because of how close they were going into the week. He said no one thing pushed it over the top to get it done. It was nailing down the details.
