You're right. They have been using Burnett in that capacity, but he's playing it from a defensive back perspective. I would be more inclined to look at the role being filled by someone who would be primarily a linebacker. Burnett is roughly 6-1, 210#. Just a little light for the job. It's a difficult role to fill. But he does a great job based on his size.
I'm looking at a 3 down inside linebacker who can cover when needed. Someone in the 235 to 240# range, with 4.50 speed, or below. Maybe 6-3 and above, who is difficult to throw over. A guy who can win jump balls against TEs and big WRs.
Not many of those guys around I fear. If you get one, you hang onto them.
