Doug Melvin to step down as GM

To me it's about time. 2 trips to the playoffs in 13 years is a major fail. But since MKE was a losing team before he came the fans accepted teams being about .500 and those couple trips. Anywhere else he would have been fired long before now. Hope they can find someone better then him.

Not a big surprise. Had to figure that he was moving on because they weren't doing anything with his contract.

Be interesting to see if they go with a young Gm with no experience. They almost have to because a veteran GM probably would not take the job unless he can dump Counsell and I suspect Attanasio would like to keep Counsell around so the new GM would have to accept that going in.

Melvin did an above average job. He inherited a mess.

Last 10 years I believe 2 playoffs , 2 90 win seasons. Only 2 under 500. It's a small market. It's unrealistic to think we can compete year in and year out. What small market team does ? Teams in small nor jets have 2-4 year window. That's it. No GM is going to fix that
