Bye Week Blues

Im not here to make excuses for him or say he's a victim, he's not. But his bosses have basically said to him, when your guys go out to kick FGs, you don't have access to a couple of the best blockers on the team. They're here, but you can't use these guys, you have to use a couple of the worst blockers on our roster instead. Here's a tackle from the PS, and a TE who is so bad at blocking we can barely play him. But here you go, make it work. Likewise, we can't give you access to a core, 4 unit ST player sitting on our practice squad, because league rules and general depth decisions make it unpalatable for us to have 6 ILBs elevated on game day, so you only get one of our best ST LBs instead of two. What should we expect? For one thing, I expect that when anyone makes a mistake on ST, the coach will correct it before it turns into a catastrophe. But what else is he supposed to do?

i wonder how many teams put their best players on special teams? i know some do, but i'd love to know what %.

I could understand Richie ST units not doing well if he was not given assets to improve the ST. But fact is they draft players to help ST and have signed FA (Nixon) to be a core ST. He also it seems has a say at cutdown day on being able to keep players who will do pretty much nothing but ST.

They let him shop for groceries but ends up buying stale bread and brown bananas
